Thanks to an innovative partnership between the Town of Aurora and the award-winning Niagara College Canadian Food and Wine Institute, the CFWI Armoury location will offer short-term and part-time culinary, wine and beer classes, as well as catering and a community event space, in the heart of downtown Aurora.

The new facility features a culinary theatre, classroom and community event space. For information on all the exciting things happening at the Armoury, please visit the Canadian Food and Wine Institute's Aurora website

The History of the Armoury

Built in 1874 as a drill shed for the 12th Battalion of Infantry or York Rangers, the building is a Recognized Federal Heritage Building. The Town purchased the Armoury from the federal government in 2014 with the intention of restoring the property and returning it to its role as a community gathering space. The transformation is now complete, as the Town opened the Armoury in 2019.
