Aurora's Ribfest Event 

Mark your calendars because the tastiest event of the year will be taking place at Machell Park, as the rib teams get fired up starting on Friday, August 27. Not only will there be the tastiest ribs but also roasted yams, roasted corn on the cob, beavertails and many other dishes for every appetite.

Machell Park will be fenced with additional procedures for the safety of the attendees, performers, food vendors, volunteers and staff.

See below for hours of operation of Ribfest and daily activities. In addition to our admission requirements, procedures and protocols. Please note for health and safety reasons, pets are not able to experience Aurora’s Ribfest, services dogs excepted.

Procedures & Protocols

The following safety protocols and procedures will be in place for Aurora’s Ribfest.


  • Everyone that enters the park must complete a contact tracking and screening process through a QR code scanned to your phone at the entrance.
  • This screening can also be done verbally or on a printed out paper copy.


  • Masks are required, except when eating or drinking. Masks are available upon request.
  • Physical distancing is required.


  • Hand sanitization stations will be located throughout the park.
  • When capacity is met, no one else will be permitted in the park.
  • Admittance after 7 p.m. is restricted to those 19 years of age and older.

Cleaning Protocols

  • Touch points have been minimized.
  • Common areas such as picnic tables and portable toilets will be cleaned on a scheduled basis.
  • Hand sanitization stations will be located throughout the park.
