Description: Central York Fire Services (CYFS) responded to reports of a house hit by lightning and on fire. CYFS fire crews first arriving on scene reported a fire on the roof.

Sport Plan Update

Aurora Town Council received an update on the progress of the Aurora Sport Plan. The Town’s Sport Plan has been widely recognized for its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and innovative community development and has received provincial and national recognition for many of its initiatives. A Request for Proposal has been issued for an update to the Sport Plan, which is expected to be complete prior to October 30, 2024.

As Newmarket and Aurora residents prepare for Canada Day festivities, Central York Fire Services (CYFS) reminds residents to keep fire safety top of mind. Follow local by-laws for safe fireworks usage and consider checking out local Town events and firework displays.
