2023 Meeting Schedule

Aurora Town Council’s monthly meeting cycle will generally be held as follows:

  • General Committee – first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.
  • Public Planning – second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.
  • Council – fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Agenda items from both General Committee meetings of any month will be considered at the subsequent Council meeting of that month.

 Agendas and Minutes Publishing Schedule

 As outlined in the Town's Procedure By-law, as amended, agendas are posted as follows:

  • General Committee, Advisory Committees, and Public Planning - agenda published one week prior to the meeting date
  • Council - agenda published on Thursday prior to the meeting date

From time to time, agendas may not go out on the specified date due to holidays or other circumstances. Special meetings may have a different publishing schedule. Minutes do not have a set publishing schedule, but are generally available within one week after the meeting date.

2022-2026 Deputy Mayor and General Committee Chair Rotation Schedule

As outlined in the Town's Procedure By-law, as amended, the Deputy Mayor responsibilities are alternated between all Ward Councillors on a monthly rotation basis. The main responsibility is to act as Chair for any General Committee meetings occurring that month. In the absence of the Deputy Mayor, the Mayor will Chair any General Committee meetings.

The Deputy Mayor is appointed to act on behalf of the Mayor:

  • When the Office of Mayor is vacant;
  • When the Mayor is absent due to illness, or scheduling conflict;
  • When the Mayor is absent from the Town;
  • When the Mayor refuses to act; or
  • When the Mayor declares a conflict of interest.
