Committee of the Whole, Public Planning, and Council meetings are available to the public in person and via live stream on the Town’s YouTube Channel.

2024 Meeting Schedule

As of March 1, 2024, Aurora Town Council’s monthly meeting cycle will generally be held as follows:

  • Committee of the Whole – first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.
  • Public Planning – second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.
  • Council – fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Agenda items from the Committee of the Whole meeting will be considered at the subsequent Council meeting of that same month.

 Agendas and Minutes Publishing Schedule

 As outlined in the Town's Procedure By-law, as amended, agendas are posted as follows:

  • Committee of the Whole, Advisory Committees, and Public Planning - agenda published one week prior to the meeting date
  • Council - agenda published on Thursday prior to the meeting date

From time to time, agendas may not go out on the specified date due to holidays or other circumstances. Special meetings may have a different publishing schedule. Minutes do not have a set publishing schedule, but are generally available within one week after the meeting date.

2022-2026 Deputy Mayor Rotation Schedule

As outlined in the Town's Procedure By-law, as amended, the Deputy Mayor responsibilities are alternated between all Ward Councillors on a monthly rotation basis.

The Deputy Mayor is appointed to act on behalf of the Mayor:

  • When the Office of Mayor is vacant;
  • When the Mayor is absent due to illness, or scheduling conflict;
  • When the Mayor is absent from the Town;
  • When the Mayor refuses to act; or
  • When the Mayor declares a conflict of interest.
