Municipal offices, recreation centres, library and recreational programming will reopen on April 6In an effort to protect staff and the community, the Town of Aurora is taking a proactive approach to social distancing and will be closing Town Hall and the Joint Operations Centre to the public immediately. Aurora continues to work closely with the Regional Municipality of York and our local community partners to monitor the global situation regarding COVID-19 and respond accordingly.

The Town of Aurora is working closely with the Regional Municipality of York and our local community partners to monitor the global situation regarding COVID-19 and respond accordingly. The Regional Municipality of York has been notified of an eighth positive case of COVID-19.
The individual is a female in her 30s from Cairo, Egypt who is visiting in the City of Markham. This travel-related case arrived from Egypt on Thursday, March 5, tested positive on Monday, March 9 and is currently self-isolated. York Region Public Health is actively following up on all close contacts.

The Regional Municipality of York, in partnership with Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority and Town of Aurora, will be retrofitting the Tamarac Green Park stormwater management facility located at the southeast corner of Henderson Drive and McClellan Way.
The crews will be cleaning and modifying the stormwater management facility to reduce the amount of phosphorus entering the local stream and improve the quality of water entering the Lake Simcoe watershed.
