Job Listings

Fitness Attendant/Fitness Assistant

On-site supervision of patrons of the Fitness Centre, including program demonstration, gym supervision and exercise correction. Delivery of related community fitness programs, light equipment maintenance, facility tours, and participation in related special events.

Fitness Instructor

Knowledge and experience in the delivery of Group Fitness and/or Aquafitness classes and instructs safe classes for all levels of participants.

Personal Trainer

Design and delivery of individualized, goal-specific fitness programs while providing proper techniques/skills, supervision, guidance and motivation in a professional manner. 

Program Leader - Recreation Gym, Rock Wall & Youth Drop-Ins, Registered Programs (Sports, Arts, STEM) and Special Events

Facilitate recreation programs focused on sports, arts, and social skills. Supervise sport drop-ins, work with participants of all ages, assist at Town events, and deliver first-aid during programs. 

Skate Patrol – Skate & Shinny Drop-Ins and Special Events

Supervise skating and shinny programs both on and off ice, assist with admissions management, provide customer service to participants of all ages, and deliver first aid during programs.

Lifeguard

Perform emergency rescues, respond to enquiries, resolve problems, and perform associated public education duties regarding safe swim habits. 

Swim Instructor

Instructional swim duties such as parent/participant liaison, skills testing, awards processing, and ensuring compliance with all safety/health regulations.

Aquatic Assistants

Paired with a Senior Instructor, the assistant will work through a mentoring session to help build confidence as a Swim Instructor and learn to teach independently.

The Recreation Job Fair will help you explore recreational employment opportunities at the Town of Aurora. We are seeking experienced lifeguards, fitness instructors, camp councillors, event support, drop-in leaders and more.
