The Aurora Museum & Archives is taking part in the 2025 CONTACT Photography Festival with a curation of images called Aurora Through the Archives: [un]Framed in Focus. The exhibition was selected as part of the Core Program which brings together exhibitions and public programs presented in partnership with museums, galleries, and artist-run centres throughout the GTA and beyond.

WHAT:
Aurora Through the Archives: [un]Framed and in Focus presents an immersive installation of archival photographs allowing visitors to step into the past through enhanced visual narratives. The photos explore themes of celebration, resilience, and identity and the selection of images reflects the activities, values, and transformations of the community.

The CONTACT Photography Festival is an annual city-wide festival that began in 1997. It encompasses exhibitions, public art installations, and programs that feature the work of local and international lens-based artists every May.
