The cold weather is here and that means its time grab some friends and family and head over to one of our four outdoor skating rink locations for one of Canada’s most popular pastimes.

Our ice rinks serve as a welcoming space for our community to gather, socialize and be physically active. Pleasure skating is permitted at all our locations, and we also have two rinks dedicated for stick and puck play.

We want everyone to enjoy themselves when using our rinks, and for everyone’s safety, we ask that all stick and puck activities are limited to the two dedicated rink locations for this use, and of course, don’t forget your helmet.

Your safety is important - we urge all residents to exercise caution and stay off any frozen ponds. Most of these are stormwater ponds with flowing water beneath the surface. The combination of flowing water and frozen conditions could lead to dangerous ice, posing significant risks to users.

Our outdoor rinks are a great way to get active but require consistently cold temperatures to be maintained and deemed safe for use. In the event of rising temperatures and melting ice, the rinks will be temporarily closed until weather conditions improve.

To avoid disappointment, check our website for updates on the status of the outdoor rinks at aurora.ca/outdoorrinks.

Happy skating Aurora!
