The Town of Aurora and Magna International have entered into a new four-year community programming partnership that will help support Town events and local York Region charities designated by Magna.

“We’re grateful to Magna for their ongoing dedication to the Town of Aurora. This partnership will allow us to enhance our summer programming for residents and will provide our local charitable organizations with much-needed support to continue their important work,” said Mayor Tom Mrakas.

“Magna is proud to continue its longstanding legacy of support for York Region charities and local community events,” said Erin Cerenzia, Magna Manager, Community Relations. “As our communities and our company grow and evolve, Magna remains committed to making positive social and environmental impacts globally, and right here at home.”

The partnership will coincide with the launch of the Magna Community Fund, where each year, ten charitable beneficiaries in Aurora will receive a donation from Magna and ongoing promotional opportunities from the Town.

Additional benefits to the Town include: enhancing the Town’s free summer programming that draws in thousands of residents to the signature weekly Aurora Concerts in the Park series and the well-known, annual Aurora Ribfest in August. In addition, the partnership will provide support to the development of Aurora Town Square, which is slated to open in 2024, and will focus on raising funds for Aurora charities and other local initiatives annually.

The Magna Community Fund will be managed by Magna’s Neighbourhood Network team. Applications to the fund are open from July 13 to July 28 at 3 p.m. Beneficiaries will be announced by August 4. For more information, visit nnetwork.org/MCF
