Cooperative Procurement

The Corporation of the Town of Aurora, together with other York Region municipalities, the Region, York Regional Police, and local school boards, is a member of the York Purchasing Co-operative (YPC) (https://ypco.ca). The YPC member agencies identify and publicly bid common goods and services by combining individual requirements and larger volumes to achieve best value and savings. 

Group Purchasing Organizations

The Town of Aurora (TOA) may take part in procurement activities organized by the following group purchasing organizations:

• Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace (https://oecm.ca/)
• Local Authority Services (LAS) by the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Business Services (https://www.las.on.ca/)
• Supply Ontario (https://www.supplyontario.ca/)

In addition to the groups listed above, the Town of Aurora may also participate in other cooperative and group purchasing organizations not explicitly named in this notice in order to support its procurement needs and strategic objectives. All Procurements are subject to Town’s Procurement By-law without exception.

The Town of Aurora uses a fully integrated online e‑procurement system through the Bids & Tenders platform. Bidders can view, register for, download, and submit Bids online in one convenient location. Bid opportunities can be accessed at: https://aurora.bidsandtenders.ca/ 

Suppliers who do not already have an account with the Bids & Tenders platform can create one directly through the system. Once registered, suppliers can view available opportunities and submit Bids online. 

Bid documents can be previewed entirely online before choosing to proceed. 

When creating an account, Bidders select commodity codes for goods, services, and construction. The system will then notify suppliers by email of any new opportunities that match their selected codes.

To view the procurement advertisement for a specific Town of Aurora opportunity (at no charge), locate the bid in the online listing. To download bid documents, you must first register for an account with Bids&Tenders.

Please note: The Town of Aurora does not post all documents. Some bids may be available for viewing purposes only. Bidders wishing to download from bids and tenders may do so with the understanding that in order for submissions to receive consideration, bidders must pick up a full submission package and register their company information.
