This opportunity is geared towards youth in grades 4 to 12 that live in Aurora or the surrounding areas and who are interested in showcasing their ideas and innovations to tackle real-world issues.

    The Town of Aurora is renowned for its picturesque parks, expansive trails, lush forests, and a plethora of amenities, but with that comes wildlife in their natural habitat that can be seen in our neighbourhoods. From late January to early March comes mating season for coyotes, it is common during this time to them howling or yipping to communicate and may see more of them as they actively seek out a mate.

    The Town of Aurora is developing a Recreation Needs Assessment for Persons with Disabilities in our community. This initiative was identified as an action item within the recently approved Parks and Recreation Master Plan in June 2023.

    We are aware of a billing error issue on some resident water/sewer bills. There were only 45 accounts that were impacted, and we have already corrected the accounts affected.

  • Aurora, First Municipality to Sign Dear Everybody Agreement to Support Disability Inclusion

    The Town of Aurora is the first municipality to sign a commitment supporting an initiative from Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital to demonstrate the Town’s commitment to being champions of inclusivity. At the Council meeting last night, Mayor Mrakas brought forward a motion pledging the Town’s commitment to supporting people with disabilities and creating an inclusive space for everyone.
