  • Fire ban lifted for Aurora and Newmarket

    With the improving weather conditions, Central York Fire Services (CYFS) has lifted the temporary fire ban put in place on June 6. Although the ban has been lifted, CYFS asks residents to continue to practice fire safety when having a fire outdoors.

  • Grass soccer fields and ball diamonds closed today

    All Town of Aurora grass soccer fields and ball diamonds are closed today due to the heavy rainfall. Artificial Turf Fields will remain open.

  • Fire ban in effect in Aurora and Newmarket

    Effective immediately, a total fire ban has been issued in Aurora and Newmarket and will be issued across York Region by local Fire Chiefs. This ban is necessary given the current forest fires in Ontario and Quebec, the hot and dry conditions which can cause fire to spread fast and the deteriorating air-quality.

The Town of Aurora has verified many municipal facilities on the AccessNow platform that provides accessibility information to individuals with disabilities looking to access Town facilities.

    The Town of Aurora’s Fireworks By-law allows fireworks to be set off. on Canada Day and the day before Canada Day.
