  • Outdoor Rinks Closed for the 2024 Season

    Despite the hard work of our Parks staff, the warmer temperatures have made it tough to maintain our outdoor rinks. Effective March 4, 2024, all outdoor rinks are closed for the season.

  • Three Aurora events receive Festival & Events Ontario Top 100 Award

    Three Town of Aurora events have been awarded a 2024 Top 100 Award, during the Festival & Events Ontario’s (FEO) Annual Conference “IMAGINE” in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The Aurora events that won are Aurora’s Christmas Market, Aurora’s Haunted Forest and Aurora’s Multicultural Festival.

  • Street Sweeping and Flushing

    Aurora’s street sweeping and flushing will begin April 1, 2024 (weather permitting). Sweeping crews will be out between the hours of 7:30 a. m.

  • Town seeks input on Community Reflection Space locations and amenities

    The Town of Aurora is seeking community input on the most ideal location for a community reflection space. The need for a dedicated public space within Aurora was identified in 2023 by the Town’s Indigenous Relations Committee (IRC) as part of a commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

  • Outdoor Rinks Closed - February 27, 2024

    Due to the unseasonably warm weather our outdoor ice rinks are currently closed. We're monitoring the conditions closely and will update you as soon as the rinks are ready for action again.

    Active Transportation Master Plan. Aurora Town Council received a presentation on the draft Active Transportation Master Plan (ATMP) by WSP Canada Inc. , the company retained to support the development of the plan.

  • Aurora Partners with Enviro World to Promote Water Conservation

    The Town of Aurora is proud to partner with Enviro World to promote water conservation within the community by offering rain barrels for purchase online until May 20, 2024. Rain barrels play a crucial role in reducing stormwater runoff by capturing rainwater and mitigating its negative impact on local ecosystems.

  • Aurora Mayor Honoured with Economic Development Award

    Aurora Mayor Tom Mrakas on Thursday evening was honoured with the Hazel McCallion Community Leadership Award by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) at its annual Excellence Awards in Toronto. The award is given to an elected official whose work “reflects the growing importance of positive influence within the economic development profession and who has made a significant impact on their peers, the industry, their community and or the overall influence of economic development. ”.
