A.F.L.C. Gymnasium Drop-ins - Summer 2026: June 29 to September 6

A.F.L.C. - Holiday Gymnasium Schedule

Adult Drop-Ins (18+): Pickleball, Volleyball, Basketball & Table Tennis

Older Adult Drop-Ins (55+): Pickleball & Badminton

Parent & Child Open Gym (Ages 4-12): Children 4-8 must have a guardian present. Guardians must pay the program fee.

Family Open Gym (Ages 6+): A participating adult (16+) is required. Maximum of 3 participants per guardian. Guardians must pay the program fee.

Teen & Parent Open Gym (Ages 12-17): Open to teens ages 12 to 17 and participating parents and/or guardians (18+). Parent/guardian must pay the program fee.

Youth Basketball & Open Gym (Ages 12-17): Open to teens only.

Note: Adult Table Tennis drop-ins do not occur during the summer months. We will return in Fall 2026.

Drop-In Activities – Ages & Descriptions

The Town of Aurora’s highest priority is the health and safety of participants, staff and visitors. We ask that the following guidelines be adhered to for the safety of all users.

• Drop-ins have strict capacities and age guidelines. Admission sales begin 15 minutes prior to the scheduled program start time on a first come, first served basis. No exceptions will be made.
• Refunds for drop-in programs are available up to 15 minutes after the program start time.
• Admission must be purchased in-person at the Customer Service Desk before participants may enter the courts. Due to high demand, participants are not permitted to pay and hold spots for others.
• After purchasing admissions, participants will receive a wristband as proof of payment. Wristbands must be worn and be visible for the duration of the drop-in.
• Children 8 years and younger must be supervised by a parent/guardian that is 16 years or older in all drop-ins.
• Clean, non-marking indoor shoes are required. Close toed shoes must be worn.
• Any music played must be kept to an appropriate volume and be acceptable for all facility users.
• Food or drink is not permitted, with the exception of water.
• The Town of Aurora is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
• Participants are to use equipment respectfully, appropriately and safely at all times.
• Where participants would like to engage in different sports, and based on space availability, the gymnasium can be divided into a maximum of two half courts. For safety reasons, volleyball nets will not be set-up during open gym sessions. Participants are welcome to pass and set the ball in designated areas.
• All participants must respect the Community Code of Conduct and follow direction of program staff. If participants are not following guidelines and/or the Code of Conduct, staff may ask them to leave the program.

Instructions - How to Register for Drop-In Activities on e-PLAY 

• Open to participants 18+ years.
• Pre-registration will be available in advance and up to 1 hour before the drop-in time, through the Town’s online program registration system e-PLAY.
• Adult Pickleball - Registration dates and times are as follows. Available up to 8 days in advance for the upcoming week.
  • Residents: Registration will open online on Fridays at 9:30 a.m.
  • Non-Residents: Registration will open online on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
  • Example: For drop-in programs taking place the week of February 17 to 23 - resident registration will open on Friday, February 9 at 9:30 a.m. - non-resident registration will open on Sunday, February 11 at 10:30 a.m.
• Adult Volleyball - Registration dates and times are as follows. Available up to 6 days in advance for the upcoming week.
  • Residents: Registration will open online on Wednesdays at 9 a.m.
  • Non-Residents: Registration will open online on Sundays at 9 a.m.
  • Example: For drop-in programs taking place the week of February 13 - resident registration will open on Wednesday, February 7 at 9 a.m. - non-resident registration will open on Sunday, February 11 at 9 a.m.
• Regular drop-in rates apply. Please note that 10 ticket pricing is not available through pre-registration.
• Limited spaces will be available for in-person admission to purchase on the day of the drop-in. In-person admissions will be available 15 minutes prior to the program start time, at the Customer Service Desk.
• All players must check in at the Customer Service Desk before entering the courts. Pre-registered players must check in by the program start time or their spot will be released to drop-in admission. Due to high demand, participants are not permitted to pay and hold spots for others.
• Drop-ins will be staffed. Program staff are responsible for managing court rotations to ensure players receive fair and equitable time on the courts. No instruction will be provided. All skill levels are welcome.
• Players must leave the gymnasium at the end of the designated drop-in time.
• We are committed to providing fair and equitable access for all to enjoy our programs and services.
  • Pre-registered spots will be held until 5 minutes after the start of the drop-in. After 5 minutes, pre-registered players may lose their spot as it will be released to drop-in admission. In the event that a player has lost their pre-paid spot, a credit for the missed class will be placed on their account.
  • Players who continually pre-register and do not attend scheduled sessions may be subject to penalties.
• Pickleball
  • Each drop-in will have a capacity of 20 players.
  • Paddles will be provided for any players that do not have their own.
  • Players are asked to follow Pickleball Rules for Beginners and Drop-In Etiquette, posted below and in the gymnasium.

Rock Wall Drop-In Schedule - Summer 2026: June 29 to September 6

• Open to individuals ages 6 and above. Children between the ages of 6 to 11 years must have a supervising adult (16 years or older) present during climbing.
• All climbers must have completed a valid waiver form and pay the admission fee prior to climbing the wall.
• Only individuals who have completed a valid waiver may enter the climbing area.
• All climbers are required to wear a Town of Aurora provided harness and helmet while climbing the wall.
• The weight capacity for the auto belay systems is 30 to 330 lbs.
• Climbers will be asked to tie back loose hair, remove rings, and empty their pockets before climbing. It’s recommended that climbers remove jewellery prior to climbing.
• Climbers must wear closed-toe shoes while climbing. Boots are not recommended. Sandals, bare feet, open-backed footwear and Crocs are not permitted. All footwear must be clean prior to climbing.
• The number of climbs a participant can complete is subject to daily capacity. Sign-in’s and timed climbs (15 minutes) may be implemented during busy times. 

I want to climb the Rock Wall – what do I need to do?
Visit the Customer Service Desk at the A.F.L.C. or fill out the online webform below to complete a Rock Wall Permission/Waiver Form. When visiting the A.F.L.C. Customer Service Desk, staff will confirm if participants have completed a Rock Climbing Permission/Waiver Form and ask them to pay the regular drop-in rate. If participants are under 18 years of age, the form requires the signatures of a valid parent/guardian. Once the form has been completely filled out and checked by staff, participants will receive a wristband verifying a valid waiver and payment. Wristbands must be worn and be visible for the duration of the program. Participants can then proceed to the wall to show their wristband and Program Staff will assist them in using the Rock Climbing wall.

How many times do I need to fill out a waiver?
Participants are required to fill out a waiver once every 365 days. When a participants' renewal deadline is approaching, Customer Service staff will alert them and ask the participant to complete a new waiver before using the Rock Wall.

I don't have an e-PLAY account – can I still climb the Rock Wall?
Staff will use the information participants provide on the Permission/Waiver form to create a new e-PLAY account.

I don't want an e-PLAY account – can I still climb the Rock Wall?
Permission/Waiver forms are tracked through e-PLAY accounts in order to more efficiently track the annual renewal process for customers. If participants do not wish to have an e-PLAY account, they will be required to complete a new waiver each time they climb the wall.

Is there a cost to fill out the Rock Climbing waiver?
There is no cost to complete or renew a Rock Climbing Permission/Waiver form. The only cost associated with the Rock Wall is the drop-in fee of $3.00 per visit.

Why do I (and my parents/guardians, if necessary) have to sign both sides of the waiver?
The first page of the form is a permission form and the second side is the waiver. Both pages are necessary for individuals to climb the wall.

What is a valid parent/guardian? Can an 18 year old fill out the form for their sibling? Can a friend's parent or grandparent fill out the form?
A valid parent/guardian is the person or people who have legal custody or guardianship of an individual.

All Rock Climbing participants are required to complete a Permission/Waiver form. A new form is required annually (every 365 days), and will be tracked through each participant's e-PLAY account. Please complete the online Rock Climbing - Permission/Waiver Form. Hard copies will be available at the A.F.L.C. Customer Service Desk if required.

The following procedures are in place to ensure that participants can stay active in a safe and controlled manner within our community centres.

• Participants can use the walking track during building hours of operation.
• Bring and wear clean and dry footwear while participating.
  • Outdoor boots and shoes will not be permitted on the walking track.
