June is Recreation and Park Month (J.R.P.M.) is a movement that promotes the benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social and environmental health. Communities across Ontario have embraced J.R.P.M. as a way to promote local programs and events, parks and facilities that are available for all citizens to enjoy.

2026 Theme - Every Journey Belongs

A time to celebrate the spaces and programs that bring our communities to life. This year’s theme, “Every Journey Belongs”, highlights importance of spaces where people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can connect, grow and thrive.

J.R.P.M. in Aurora

Throughout the month of June, residents of all ages are invited to participate in a variety of free and family‑friendly programs, events, and experiences that showcase the Town’s vibrant recreation offerings and beautiful public spaces. J.R.P.M. in Aurora will feature live music, cultural programming, Indigenous storytelling, community festivals, markets, and special recreation events taking place in parks and recreation facilities across Town. These events highlight the power of play, music, culture, and connection in building a healthy and active community.
