The Town of Aurora offers many free activities for families to participate in as they Celebrate Canada’s Birthday. Events and festivities take place over two days. Please see below for complete event details scheduled on Monday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 1.


Canada Day - Community Zone

As part of Aurora’s Canada Day Festivities, local community organizations are welcome to participate in the Community Zone. The Community Zone offers an array of interactive Canada Day activities for Aurora families to participate in. Examples might look like an obstacle course, a craft, or a trivia game, that your organization has created to engage attendees. Deadline to submit application form is Monday, June 16.


Canada Day - GooseChase Challenge

As part of the Canada Day event, enjoy this fun scavenger hunt. There are lots of fun Canadian themed challenges to complete and gain points. These awesome family friendly challenges can be done as a group or individually. Those with the most points will go into a random draw to win gift cards for local businesses. Let the adventures begin now through July 1, 2025.

Dance in the Park

Date - Monday, June 30, 2025
Time - 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Location - Aurora Town Park (49 Wells Street)

Bring out your dancing shoes and kick off the Canada Day festivities with the Dance in the Park! There will be fantastic live bands, great food and the Rotary Beer Garden. Celebrate the start of Canada Day by dancing up a storm.

North Of The Border

North of the Border is a five piece cover band dedicated to presenting rock music by Canadian Artists. This band will fill the bill on a weekend night, getting the crowd dancing and enjoying themselves.

Tangent

"Not your average dad band!" Hits through the decades. Dance or sing along at pubs, festivals, parties. You will have a rockin' time!


Canada Day - Parade

Date - Tuesday, July 1, 2025
Time - Starts at 10 a.m.
Location - Yonge Street

Aurora’s Canada Day Festivities will be starting with the Canada Day Parade at 10 a.m. The route will be travelling north on Yonge Street from Murray Drive to Aurora Heights Drive.

Want to be part of the action? Spend Canada day with us! If you would like to participate in the parade, please join us. Deadline to submit application form is Friday, June 13.


Canada Day - Festivities (Day)

Date - Tuesday, July 1, 2025
Time - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location - Lambert Willson Park & Aurora Family Leisure Complex

It’s time to have some fun and celebrate Canada’s Birthday! Festivities include live entertainment and children’s activities. Be sure to participate in our Passport Activities which include interactive activities for each Province and Territory, reflective of their history and landscape. There will also be a variety of food vendors to enjoy.

Birds of Prey

The show includes birds that are trained for free flight, as each different bird is unique in its own appearance and flight styles. As each bird is flying, the handler/interpreter gives an educational commentary about each one.

11:45 a.m.

Citizenship Reaffirmation Ceremony

This is symbolic ceremony where Canadians publicly reaffirm their commitment to their rights and responsibilities as citizens. It's a way for individuals and communities to express patriotism and a renewed sense of belonging, followed by cake.

12 p.m.

Off the Rock - Tribute to Great Big Sea

Off The Rock is North America’s premier tribute to one of Canada’s greatest musical icons - Great Big Sea. Featuring the musical talents of Anthony Clayton, Thom Danger Speck, Sean Battams, Steve Peckford, and David Skolnick, this dynamic group brings the spirit of the Canadian East Coast home, wherever home may be.

The Beresfords

Experience the ultimate celebration of Canadian music as the Beresfords deliver iconic hits from the country’s greatest artists. From heartfelt ballads to electrifying anthems, get ready for a night of pure homegrown talent that will leave you cheering for more.

Passport Activity for Kids

Travel across Canada with your “passport” while collecting stamps from participating interactive activities that relate to the provinces and territories. Submit your passport at the Passport Tent for a prize.

Enjoy back-to-back live bands, capping off with fireworks at 10 p.m. There will be a food vendor on site to enjoy.

Tribute to Bryan Adams
