The Town of Aurora Community Recognition Awards celebrate numerous outstanding citizens and groups, with the honour of 2025 Aurora Citizen of the Year being bestowed upon Sandy Bundy.
Citizen of the Year
Sandy Bundy, the 2025 Town of Aurora Citizen of the Year, has been an active member of the Aurora Optimist Club for more than eight years. She has contributed her time towards organizing mentorships, scholarships, and community events. Specifically securing funds and leading the KIND (Kids in Need) Program during COVID. In addition, she is a Big Sister through Big Brothers, Big Sisters of York, volunteers at the Aurora Seniors’ Centre and greeter at the Hillary House. Between all of this, she finds time to volunteer at the Aurora Legion with lunches, dinners and other events. Sandy’s leaderships, unwavering dedication and positive attitude have a profound impact on the our community.
