Budget 2026

Aurora Town Council Adopts Budget 2026

On December 7, 2025, Aurora Town Council adopted the Town’s 2026 Operating Budget and 10-Year Capital Plan, the final budget of the current Council term. The plan maintains all existing programs and services while directing new investments only to the most critical infrastructure and amenities needed to support Aurora’s high quality of life.

The approved tax-levy increase for 2026 is 2.2 per cent – lower than the 2.9 per cent that was forecasted in last year’s multi-year plan. For an average home assessed at $800,000, this represents an annual increase of approximately $56.94. The 2.2 per cent increase includes a one per cent contribution to capital reserves, helping ensure Aurora can continue funding major long-term projects and maintaining essential assets.

This year’s budget reflects Council’s focus on responsible financial management, keeping costs down, managing pressures without cutting services, and continuing to invest in priorities that strengthen the community today and into the future.
