Town of Aurora Hosts Eco-Friendly Community Garage Sale

The Town of Aurora is excited to welcome back the annual Community Garage Sale — a fun, eco-friendly event that encourages residents to reduce waste and embrace sustainable decluttering.

This year’s Community Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Aurora Community Centre parking lot. The event will run rain or shine. By giving gently used items a second life, participants can help reduce landfill waste, lower the need for new production, and contribute to a greener community.

“Events like the Community Garage Sale show how small actions can lead to big change,” said Mayor Tom Mrakas. “By choosing to reuse and repurpose, we’re not only helping the environment but also building stronger community connections. It’s a great way for residents to come together, find new treasures, and support a greener Aurora.”

There is no cost to participate, but sellers are asked to bring non-perishable food donations in exchange for the use of the parking space. All food collected will go directly to the Aurora Food Pantry to support those in need. Spaces are limited and fill up quickly, so early registration is recommended. Registration is now open at aurora.ca/GarageSale.
