The Aurora Museum & Archives is seeking a talented Indigenous artist, or artist group, to design and paint an interior wall mural located in the Museum’s new exhibition space at the soon-to-open Aurora Town Square. Indigenous cultures have called this land home since time immemorial, and the Town of Aurora was, and still is, Indigenous land.
Legacy donors leave a long-lasting impact on Aurora Community. Aurora Town Square legacy donors were celebrated on Wednesday at a special donor recognition.
With the improving weather conditions, Central York Fire Services (CYFS) has lifted the temporary fire ban put in place on June 6. Although the ban has been lifted, CYFS asks residents to continue to practice fire safety when having a fire outdoors.
All Town of Aurora grass soccer fields and ball diamonds are closed today due to the heavy rainfall. Artificial Turf Fields will remain open.
Effective immediately, a total fire ban has been issued in Aurora and Newmarket and will be issued across York Region by local Fire Chiefs. This ban is necessary given the current forest fires in Ontario and Quebec, the hot and dry conditions which can cause fire to spread fast and the deteriorating air-quality.
