Town of Newmarket to receive donation of Kidde Home Alarms for fire safety program

NEWMARKET, Ontario, September 17, 2026 - Central York Fire Services (CYFS) invites members of the media to a significant donation presentation which will directly impact the safety of residents in Aurora and Newmarket through. The event will include a donation of combination smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms from Kidde Canada to support CYFS Stay Fire Smart program and other fire prevention initiatives.

The donation is being made ahead of Ontario's Test Your Smoke Alarm Day (TYSAD), an annual public safety campaign on September 28 encouraging residents across the province to test their smoke alarms and confirm they are in proper working order. 

What: Media will have an opportunity to capture photos of the presentation and speak with representatives from CYFS and Kidde Canada about smoke alarm safety and fire prevention.
