Central York Fire Services Incident Report - Egan Crescent

Address / location of incident: Egan Crescent, Aurora

Central York Fire Services (CYFS) responded to a structure fire. The first arriving CYFS unit confirmed a structure fire. The building was residential with smoke and flames visible. Command adopted a defensive strategy. Hose lines were deployed and water supply established. 

Cause of incident: Household repair work being conducted in the garage and furnace room area.

Casualties / Injuries: No injuries.

Community Impact: None.

Current Status: CYFS has fully extinguished the fire.

Resources Used: CYFS responded with six trucks, 24 fire fighters and a chief officer. CYFS worked in collaboration with York Regional Police and York Region Paramedic Services.

Fire Safety Tips: When a fire occurs, the top priority is to get outside. If possible, when you leave, close the door behind you to help contain the fire.
