Celebrate Canada Day in Canada’s Birthday Town - Aurora!
Get ready to celebrate like a true Canadian! The Town of Aurora is rolling out the red and white carpet with two jam-packed days of music, food, fun and fireworks as we celebrate Canada Day in Canada’s Birthday Town.
“Come join us in Aurora for one of the most cherished events of the year! Canada Day is more than a celebration — it’s a reminder of what unites us as Canadians: our diversity, our freedom, and our unwavering sense of community,” said Mayor Tom Mrakas. “There’s no better place to celebrate than right here in Aurora — Canada’s Birthday Town — where we come together to honour our past, embrace our future, and show our pride in the greatest country in the world.”
Monday, June 30, kick off the celebrations with Dance in the Park at Aurora Town Park. Savour an evening filled with food vendors, dancing, and live entertainment. Don't forget to stop by the Beer Garden, run by the Rotary Club of Aurora, for a refreshing drink.
Tuesday, July 1, start your morning at 10 a.m. with Canadian pride at our Canada Day Parade along Yonge Street to Aurora Heights Drive. Expect a colourful spectacle of floats, marching bands, and cheerful community spirit lining the route.
Then, head over to Lambert Willson Park for a full day of FREE family fun! Explore Canada through educational and interactive displays themed around all 13 provinces and territories. Enjoy public skates, swims, gym drop-ins, and a complimentary pancake breakfast at the Aurora Family Leisure Complex, courtesy of the Optimist Club of Aurora.
Main stage highlights:
- The Birds of Prey Show – A breathtaking display of nature’s most majestic hunters
- Off the Rock – A high-energy tribute to Great Big Sea
- The Beresfords, Murray Drive, and a finale tribute to Bryan Adams that’ll have you singing into the sunset
On-site food vendors will be serving tasty treats at nominal prices. Cap off your Canada Day celebration with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the night sky above Aurora.
