Aurora Observes Treaties Recognition Week from November 2 to 8

The Town of Aurora is recognizing Treaties Recognition Week from November 2 to 8 along with other municipalities across Ontario.

WHAT:              
Treaties Recognition Week is an annual event introduced by the province of Ontario in 2016, to promote awareness of treaty rights and relationships.

WHEN:            
November 2 to 8, 2025

WHY:                 
Treaties are legally binding documents that outline the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. Aurora is part of both Treaty #13 (1805) and the Williams Treaties (1923).
