Public indoor recreational skating and shinny hockey is offered various times throughout the week, year round. Indoor skating takes place at the  Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex, Aurora Family Leisure Complex or Aurora Community Centre. Please refer to the current schedule for further details on times and location.

Outdoor skating is also available (weather dependent in the winter months (usually January to mid-March). For an updated list of outdoor rink locations and availability please see below.

Admission Fees - Public Skating

$3.00 per skate, per person

$24.50 for 10 tickets, $45.90 for 20 tickets, $66.30 for 30 tickets

Admission Fees - Shinny Hockey

$6.25 per skate, per person

$50.20 for 10 tickets

Outdoor Skating

Currently all outdoor skating rinks are CLOSED.

Unfortunately due to the consistently mild weather conditions, none of the Town's outdoor rinks are in operation at the moment. Town Park and Ada Johnson Park are nearing completion and if the weather cooperates should be ready soon. Please check back for updates.

Shinny Guidelines and Rules

Adult Shinny Hockey

Adult Shinny Hockey players must be 18 years or older to participate. The Ontario Recreation Facilities Association and the Town of Aurora strongly recommends full equipment be worn including helmet and glove protection.

Parent & Child Skate/Shinny

This program allows parents/guardians and children (12 years and under) to learn to skate, work on basic hockey skills and play pick-up shinny.

Hockey equipment such as sticks, pucks, pads, etc. are allowed on the ice surface. Children 6 and under must as accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The Ontario Recreation Facilities Association and the Town of Aurora recommends wearing a helmet and glove protection while on the ice surface.
