Residential Waste Bag Tag Program

Council approved the implementation of a residential waste bag tag program, to begin on January 1, 2022. The program will allow residents to purchase tags to supplement the current limit of three bags of waste for each collection day. The tags, which will be sold for a fee of $5 each, will ensure that residents are able to put out as many as three additional bags each collection day. The purpose of the bag tag program is to balance residents’ needs with the Town’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Henderson Drive Pedestrian Crossing

Based on complaints received by Town staff from residents, Council approved retrofits to the existing pedestrian crossing at Henderson Drive, at the intersection of Tamarac Trail and Lee Gate. Staff made the recommendation based on a site assessment. The approved retrofits to the pedestrian crossing include: the installation of an overhead pedestrian crossing sign; installation of a rapid flashing beacon on the overhead signs; and vegetation control around the pedestrian crossing to improve site lines. Additionally, an intersection pedestrian sign will be installed on the west approach of Henderson at Tamarac/Lee.
