Address / location of incident: Scrivener Drive, Aurora
Description:

Central York Fire Services (CYFS) responded to a reported structure fire in the roof of a home.

On arrival, crews reported a working fire on the roof of the home. Initially, fire crews fought the fire defensively and then switched tactics to offensively.

No injuries or environmental impacts to report.

CYFS worked in collaboration with our partners York Regional Police and York Paramedic Services. In addition, Mutual Aid was initiated by utilizing Richmond Hill East Gwillimbury and Whitchurch-Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services. Due to the fact that there was severe weather in the area, all three fire departments were paged out to respond to calls throughout the CYFS boundaries.

The fire has been extinguished and released back to the owners.

Cause of incident: The cause of the fire was from a lightening strike.
Casualties / Injuries: No injuries.
Community Impact: No impact to the community.
Resources Used: CYFS had 4 trucks on scene, one Incident Commander, 16 firefighters and one Chief Officer on scene.
