The voting period for Aurora's Municipal Election is October 12 - 22.
May 1, 2018: Nomination Period begins; first day for an individual or entity to file a notice of registration and advertise as a third party advertiser
July 27, 2018: Nomination period closes at 2 p.m. on July 27, 2018. No nominations or withdrawals will be accepted after 2 p.m.
July 30, 2018: Certification of nomination papers before 4 p.m.; Acclamations to be declared after 4 p.m.
September 4, 2018: Voters' list will be available to certified candidates; Adjustment period begins for electors. Residents of Aurora will be able to add/correct their own name on Voters' List and remove of deceased persons from the Voters' List
September 25, 2018: Final campaign expense limits issued to all candidates and third party advertisers
October 12 - 21, 2018: Online voting period. Qualified electors will be able to cast their vote online.
October 13 - 17, 2018: Advance Voting Period at the Aurora Seniors Centre, located at 90 John West Way. Residents can vote in person at the Aurora Seniors' Centre, 90 John West Way:
Oct. 13: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Oct. 14: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Oct. 15: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Oct. 16: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Oct. 17: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
October 19, 2018: Final day for an individual, corporation, or union to register with the Clerk's Office as a third party advertiser.
October 22, 2018: Voting Day. Most voting locations open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. There is NO online voting on Voting Day.
December 3, 2018: Term of office commences and new Council is sworn in.
December 31, 2018: Campaign period ends for candidates and third party advertisers. If a candidate or third party advertisers requires an Extension of Campaign, Dec 31, 2018 is the last day they can apply.
