2018 Municipal Election Positions

**The Town of Aurora is still accepting applications for standby Election Workers for the 2018 municipal election.**

Available Positions:

  • Managing Deputy Returning Officer (MDRO): manages a specific voting location
  • Deputy Returning Officer (DRO): issues ballots to qualified electors.
  • Revisions Clerk (RC):  makes revisions to the voters' list
  • Technical Deputy Returning Officer: processes ballots into the vote tabulator
  • Information Clerk: ensures voters are directed to the appropriate areas

To be considered for a position, applicants must possess the following knowledge and skills, and be willing to carry out the core responsibilities of the position:

  • Knowledge of the Municipal Elections Act is an asset
  • Must attend the workshop/training session held for all election workers
  • Previous Election experience is an asset
  • Assist with setting-up the voting location
  • Ensure the voting location is opened and closed at the appropriate times
  • Assist with the closing of the voting location
  • Excellent customer service skills

Remuneration:

  • Managing Deputy Returning Officer (MDRO):  Rate of Pay: $275, includes training and mileage incurred
  • Deputy Returning Officer (DRO):  Rate of Pay: $240, includes training and any mileage incurred
  • Technical Deputy Returning Officer (TDRO): Rate of Pay: $240, includes training and any mileage incurred
  • Revision Clerk (RC):  Rate of Pay: $225, includes training and any mileage incurred
  • Information Clerk (IC): Rate of Pay: $200, includes training and any mileage incurred
