​​​Congratulations to the 2017 Town of Aurora Student Academic Achievement Award Winners

Each year the Town of Aurora awards two (2) grade 12 students from each high school with the Town of Aurora Student Academic Achievement Award to honour their significant academic achievements.

​Each high school selects the recipients based on high academic achievement (minimum 80%). Recipients must also be a resident of Aurora.

The Town was pleased to once again sponsor the awards.

Below are the names of the 2017 winners of the Town of Aurora Student Academic Achievement Award presented at the following high school graduation ceremonies during the week of June 27:

Background

The Town of Aurora Academic Achievement Awards are given to two graduating students from each Aurora high school to honour their significant academic achievements. Recipients are selected by each high school in Aurora based on the following criteria:

  • Highest academic achievement for two grade 12 students who are furthering their education (minimum average of 80%)
  • Student must be a resident of Aurora

The following schools participate in the ​program:

  • Dr. G. W. Williams Secondary School
  • Aurora High School
  • Cardinal Carter Catholic High School
  • École Secondaire Catholique Renaissance
  • St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic High School (Participation since 2012)

Each student will be presented with an award of $400 by either the Mayor or a Member of Council at their graduation ceremony.​​
