The Regional Municipality of York, in partnership with the Community Partnership Council and the Municipal Multi-Cultural Reference Group, is launching the Let's Talk Inclusion initiative in May 2015. The Town of Aurora is taking a key role in supporting this initiative.
The first phase of this initiative launches in May 2015 and focuses on immigration and cultural diversity. Later phases will look at other dimensions of diversity such as gender, age, abilities, and sexual orientation.
These discussions will help shape the York Region Diversity and Inclusion Charter that will express a vision for creating a community that strives for equity and embraces, respects and values diversity.
You can participate in this important initiative in four ways:
- Attend a session
- Host your own session
- Give your feedback through the online survey and social media
- Promote the initiative
The intent of this initiative is to host a series of discussions throughout York Region to hear from newcomers, long-term residents, businesses, community organizations, public institutions, faith groups, and other stakeholders about their perspectives on diversity and inclusion in York Region.
