The Policy Planning and Economic Development division is responsible for the coordination of:

- Geographic Information services
- Policy Development
- Strategic Planning
The Policy Planning and Economic Development division takes a lead role in research, data collection, policy development and review in the areas of strategic planning, growth management and land use planning. The division is also responsible for the development, monitoring and reporting on the Town's Strategic Plan and leads property sales and acquisitions.
Working together with the Development Planners, the division is responsible for initiating, developing and implementing streetscape plans, policies and guidelines.
The division coordinates economic development functions for the Town of Aurora and includes supporting a healthy business environment that attracts new businesses and responds to the needs of the current business community. Our focus is on creating supportive relationships with local businesses to promote business attraction, retention and expansion.
The division provides geographic information services to internal and external clients including mapping services, information management and analysis and related solutions.
Geographic Information Services
Geographic Information services uses geography to integrate information and communicate ideas through maps and manages the Town's authoritative spatial data and provides corresponding analysis, products, services and technology.
