Winter overnight parking restrictions will be in effect between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. as of November 15, 2019 until April 15, 2020. Parking restrictions will be enforced regardless of the current weather or road conditions during this time period.
As a vehicle owner, it is your responsibility to ensure that your parked vehicle is off the roadway between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. and while snow clearing operations are underway. Bylaw officers will be ticketing vehicles that are parked on the roadways overnight during the restricted hours. The fine for each parking offence is $50. Fines for interfering with snow removal are $75.
The overnight winter parking restrictions provide a proactive approach to road safety. Our fleet of snow clearing equipment and crews maintain 195 km of roads and 210 km of sidewalks. Traffic is usually not heavy during the overnight hours, which helps crews meet service delivery standards for snow removal and maintenance. Winter maintenance may occur over several days before or after inclement weather.
