Aurora celebrates Canada Day

Message

Take part in the festivities celebrating our great country!

Celebrate Canada Day with your family, friends and fellow neighbours. Join us for the Town’s annual Canada Day celebrations beginning on Sunday, June 30 and continuing on Monday, July 1.

Enjoy great music, food and a licensed beer garden at Dance in the Park on Sunday, June 30 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. This event is presented in partnership with the Rotary Club of Aurora.

The celebrations continue with the Canada Day Parade on Monday, July 1 at 10 a.m. The parade will travel south on Yonge Street from Mosley Street to Murray Drive. Before the parade starts, kids can participate in sidewalk chalking at 9:30 a.m. outside of the Aurora Public Library.

Following the parade, the festivities in Lambert Willson Park will begin with free pancakes. Then rediscover Canada with fun passport activities for children. Learn interesting facts about Canada’s provinces and territories, participate in interactive games and fill your passport. Don’t miss visits from the Aurora Community Arboretum, Engineering for Kids, Scientational Ssnakes and Toronto Kite Fliers displays.

Activities include a kids’ workshop presented by Home Depot, live entertainment, a horseshoe tournament (on-site registration required) and more. Also, don’t miss the final competition round for the 2019 Aurora Teen Idol.

Come and party with the Pontune 5 Band, Big Shiny 90s Band and Louisa and The Planets. Enjoy the final entertainment feature of the day by Sheer Heart Attack, a Tribute to Queen, ending with a spectacular fireworks show. On-site food vendors are available throughout the festivities for a nominal fee.

Special thanks to our generous sponsors – Aurora Home Hardware, Bell Canada, Royal LePage Your Community Realty, and TD.
