Incident Type: House Fire

Date: April 8, 2019

Time of Call: 1:30 a.m.

Address / location of incident: Tribbling Crescent, Town of Aurora

Description: Central York Fire Services (CYFS) responded to a residential house fire on Tribbling Crescent in the area of Bathurst Street and St. John’s Sideroad in the Town of Aurora. Upon arrival crews noticed smoke and fire coming from the garage. Entry was made through the side door of the garage and crews were able to extinguish the fire.

A resident was woken up by working smoke alarms and exited the home safely.

Cause of incident: Barbecue briquettes used the day before ignited in the garbage.

Casualties / Injuries: No reported injuries to residents or CYFS staff.

Community Impact: N/A

Current Status: The fire has been fully extinguished.

Resources Used: Four CYFS apparatus were involved at the incident, with additional resources from York Regional Police, York Paramedic Services, Alectra and Enbridge Gas.
