**The significant weather event, declared as of 8 p.m on February 12, 2019 due to snow & freezing rain on sidewalks, roadways & bike lanes, has been declared over as of 1 p.m. on February 13, 2019.**

As of 8 p.m. on February 12, 2019, the Town of Aurora has declared a Significant Weather Event with respect to snow and freezing rain on sidewalks, roadways and bicycle lanes. During this this time, please anticipate that roads, bicycle lanes and sidewalks may become slippery. Proceed with caution.

The provincial government outlines Minimum Maintenance Standards (MMS) for Municipal Highways in O. Reg. 239/02. Recent changes to the MMS, allow municipalities to declare a Significant Weather Event to allow a wider window of opportunity and additional period of time for a municipality to return road conditions to the standard level of service during and following a significant weather event.
