Sanitary sewer work and temporary lane reductions at the Leslie Street and St. John's Sideroad intersection in the are scheduled to take place from Monday, February 4, 2019 to Friday, February 15, 2019, weather permitting.
Improvements to Leslie Street are underway. In order to construct a sanitary sewer across Leslie Street, a trench needs to be dug across the Leslie Street and St. John's Sideroad intersection.
As a result:
- The dedicated left-turn lane on Leslie Street going northbound will be removed and all traffic will be using the single northbound lane
- The dedicated left-turn lane on St. John's Sideroad going westbound will be removed and all traffic will be using the single westbound lane
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Every attempt will be made to reduce inconveniences to a minimum, however motorists can expect traffic delays during this period and are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly.
As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.
