Aurora opens Thomas Coates Park

Aurora, ON – The Town of Aurora is pleased to formally open Thomas Coates Park (formerly known as Mavrinac Park). This park features the following amenities: two pickle ball courts, two tennis courts, playground, basketball court and pathways. Council approved the proposal to name the public park as Thomas Coates in 2018. Mr. Coates owned the property from 1854 to 1892 and it was then sold on to generations in his family. The process to design and build the park from a concept idea to its completed construction took approximately 18 months.
