NOTICE OF STUDY COMMENCEMENT - Town-Wide Master Transportation Study

The Town of Aurora has initiated a Master Transportation Study (MTS) to assess both the current transportation needs and the long-term transportation needs of the Town to 2041. The study will serve as an update to the Town's Master Transportation Operations Study completed in 2013 and build upon the recommendations for the Town within York Region's 2016 Transportation Master Plan.

The MTS will be a comprehensive town-wide study to guide improvements in transportation, mobility, connectivity and safety. The study will provide short-term and long-term solutions to the Town's traffic and parking challenges, particularly in the Town's historic downtown core and with consideration for current initiatives including the Metrolinx Barrie Rail Corridor Expansion (BRCE) Project and the Aurora Promenade Concept Plan.

This notice signals the commencement of the Aurora Master Transportation Study.

An Open House will be held in early 2019 to present draft study findings and preliminary recommendations to the general public and Town Council. The notice for the Open House will be published in local newspapers and posted on the Town's website at providing the date, time, and location of the meeting. Anyone with an interest in this study is invited to get involved and provide input at any time.

We want to hear from you on the issues and opportunities that you see for the Town's transportation system over the next 20 years. Further, if you require additional information or would like to be included on the project contact list, please contact one of the individuals below:
