It's all about the "Ribs, Bibs and Sauce"!

The tastiest event of the year will be taking place at Machell Park, as the rib teams get fired up starting on Friday, August 24.

Not only will there be the tastiest ribs but also roasted yams, roasted corn on the cob, beavertails and many other dishes for every appetite.

We also will have great live entertainment, an inflatable midway and activities for kids of all ages.

Mechanical Bull Riding
How long can you stay on the mechanical bull? Try out this exciting activity on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Escape Room
Join Labyrinth Escape Games for an exciting escape experience! Bring your friends and try out their NEW mobile escape room, made especially for Aurora’s Ribfest!

Bullseye Axe Throwing
There will be activities for the adults too! Try your hand with Bullseye Axe Throwing in the afternoon on Sunday with some target practice!

5:30 p.m. - Stacey Renee Band

Toronto Singer, Songwriter, Performer & Indie Rock Artist Stacey Renee has entertained crowds across North America - opening for such artists as The Trews, Treble Charger, and has been featured on Much Music's television show "disBand".   CBC Music's Top 10 Searchlight Finalist, Stacey has rocked the stage at Nathan Phillips Square, Yonge Dundas Square, Copps Coliseum, Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, Canada's Wonderland, Ontario Place, The Hershey’s Centre, and many festivals, concerts, and events across North America.

9 p.m. - *Headliner* - Rik Emmett & RESolution 9

Following more than a dozen platinum albums from his Triumph years, Rik Emmett has produced 19 more albums ranging from rock, blues, jazz, folk and classical with a full-blown rock record released worldwide in 2016 with RES 9.

Saturday, August 25

11:45 a.m. - Lou Moore & Friends

Lou Moore always surrounds himself with the most talented musicians in the music business today. You can see him locally at Colonel Mustards in Newmarket every Thursday. He is joined by six-time CCMA guitar player of the year and Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame member Wendell Ferguson. On bass is Gene Falbo who has played with Sylvia Tyson, Ray Materick, Charlie Majors and others. On drums is the incomparable Al Cross who spent close to ten years with the rock band Big Sugar.

1:15 p.m. - Magna Hoedown Showdown

The Magna Hoedown Showdown is a country music talent competition to promote aspiring singers across Ontario. Don’t the incredible talent included in this competition. More information

5:30 p.m. - Wendy Laurier & The Renaissance Band

Wendy Laurier and The Renaissance Band are a Simcoe County based band. They are a huge energy multi genre band, providing rock solid vocals and musical arrangements. More information

9 p.m. - *Headliner* - Plantinum Blonde

Platinum Blonde has earned their name with four albums that have collectively gone platinum seven times. These Juno Award winners have also been inducted into the Music and Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame. Their top hits include: Doesn't Really Matter, Standing in the Dark and Hungry Eyes. Platinum Blonde is celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year.

Sunday, August 26

12 p.m. - "Best-of-Ribfest" Judging

The Professional Rib Teams Cook Off is hands down, lip smacking excitement. Local dignitaries will be judging the finest sauces and ribs from the professional ribbers which are all competing for trophies.

1:30 p.m. - The Good Brothers

The Good Brothers have been honoured with 8 Juno Awards as Canada’s top country act and the Bill Monroe Pioneer Award for outstanding international achievements by a Canadian bluegrass band. In 2004 the brothers were inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. They have received a “Life Time Achievement Award” from The Toronto Musician’s Association and were also inducted into the North American Country Hall of Fame in Tennessee. Last spring marked their 40th tour of Europe.

4 p.m. - The Pheromones

The Pheromones are ready to rock Aurora with music from the 50’s through to the 90’s and everything in between. If you like to dance, you’ll love The Pheromones as they perform songs everyone knows.

6 p.m. - Rose Cora Perry & The Truth Untold

Bringing audiences of over 500,000 to tears with her emotional sound and sincere performances, Rose has been crowned a well-respected industry pro and has been named one of the Top #10 talents in Canada. More information

Children's Activities
There will be an inflatable midway set up all weekend long to add some excitement for families and for children of all ages. Nominal fees do apply for the midway. In addition, there will be a Children's Activity Zone including activities, face painting and more, on Saturday, August 25 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Hoedown Showdown - Saturday, August 25
Once again the Hoedown Showdown will be holding auditions for the lucky vocalist that will be performing at this year's Magna Hoedown. The top 20 chosen to audition will be performing live and hoping to make it to the next round of auditions.

People's Choice Award
Don't forget to make your opinion count and cast your vote for the best ribs of the weekend! Ballots will be randomly handed out throughout the event, however you can download one and take it with you. Ballots can be placed in the voting box located under the Town of Aurora tent.
