In Aurora, nurturing a high quality of life for residents includes fostering a love of the arts. The Town of Aurora's third floor Skylight Gallery is a fabulous open space topped by a dramatic skylight and is an area devoted to exhibitions of work by local and area painters and sculptors. Backboards and track lighting are set up to display artwork in a striking setting and admission to this ever-changing art show is free.
Most of the artists are from York Region and occasionally beyond. The goal is to expose residents to the work of Canadian artists in a unique, convenient setting. The featured artist can hold a reception in the Skylight Gallery during his/her chosen month.

March/2018 Skylight Gallery Artist: Salah Khosravi
Skylight Gallery Show:
Salah Khosravi's passion for drawing, painting and photography began in his early teen years. He studied drawing and painting on his own and has been working with different techniques such as pen, graphite pencil and oil over the years. With a self-admitted obsession for photography, Salah photographs his subjects wherever and whenever the opportunity presents itself. Within the last few years Salah has begun to expand his focus more into painting, especially with oil, in hopes of more thoroughly expressing his talent and passion for realistic painting such as portraits and animals. Salah's exhibit will feature a variety of portraiture, figure and animals using mainly oil on canvas and few graphite pencil drawings. Visit the Skylight Gallery this month to see this exciting work.
