In Aurora, nurturing a high quality of life for residents includes fostering a love of the arts. The Town of Aurora's third floor Skylight Gallery is a fabulous open space topped by a dramatic skylight and is an area devoted to exhibitions of work by local and area painters and sculptors. Backboards and track lighting are set up to display artwork in a striking setting and admission to this ever-changing art show is free.
Most of the artists are from York Region and occasionally beyond. The goal is to expose residents to the work of Canadian artists in a unique, convenient setting. The featured artist can hold a reception in the Skylight Gallery during his/her chosen month.

As an active member of Arts Society King and Society of York Region Artists, Lynn Wilson's work has been described as "Bold! Strong! Colorful! And High Energy!". Lynn paints with acrylics (impactful colour combinations of abstracts and impressionist style), collage and mixed media, mostly on large sized canvas. Recently she has been inspired by Altered Art Journaling and has immersed herself in this new expression. Lynn recently taught a workshop at the Laskay House in King Society at the King Heritage and Cultural Centre. Visit the Skylight Gallery this month to see this exciting work.
