Animal Services

Who we are

As of January 1st, 2018, the Town of Aurora assumed responsibility for Animal Services within the town. Staff are committed to working in partnership with the community to create a safe, healthy, and caring environment for animals and people.

What we do

Our objective is to educate and enforce all of the Town's animal related bylaws while ensuring the safety and well-being of both residents and their pets.

Animal Service Officers are responsible for the investigation of complaints filed by Town of Aurora residents, conducting pro-active patrols of public parks in the Town, and the picking-up of lost, stray, and injured animals.

Animal Services also provides active education programs to educate and encourage responsible pet ownership.

Animal Services will address wildlife complaints within the town provided that the injured wildlife is located on town-owned property. For wildlife issues relating to private property, residents are encouraged to contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility or wildlife control expert.
