The Town of Aurora’s volunteer programs provide an opportunity for volunteers to participate and to assist town employees in delivering fitness, aquatics programs, special events, camps, and various children/youth programs.
The Town of Aurora welcomes and encourages all children with disabilities to participate in any of our recreation programs. We make every effort to ensure that each child participates at a level suitable to their abilities by supporting their needs and providing accessible facilities. Help us provide a positive experience for every participant!
What is a Leisure Buddy?
This program will pair a participant with a volunteer who is enthusiastic and committed to providing support. This program provides the volunteer and the participant with a chance to learn, have fun and meet new people.

Join our team! Aquatics volunteers are needed at the Aurora Family Leisure Complex and the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex. As an aquatics volunteer, you can gain invaluable work experience and opportunity to learn new skills while having fun. Come out and meet new people and make a difference in your community. This position gives you an opportunity to develop needed skills and earn discounts towards Aquatics courses.

There is always a lot to do to prepare for an event, as well as handle during the event. If you are a student, this is a great way to earn your community service hours and if not, it’s a great opportunity to network within the community!

At Club Aurora Fitness Centre we provide a high quality training program to assist in a volunteer’s personal development. Our training program includes a general orientation, program content, health and safety, and emergency training. Our training is designed to prepare our volunteers for employment in the future.
What do I need to Volunteer to be a Fitness Instructor Apprentice?
What do you get?
For every hour worked the time will be documented in a logbook. You can then use your logged time towards your certification experience. All volunteers will also periodically have the opportunity to participate in fun special events.
